Make Mother's Day Crafts for Free at Michael's
April 27, 2009
Times are tight and although jewelry is always nice, this might not be the year to hint for something that comes in a little turquoise bag. This year for Mother's Day, beginning this weekend, Michael's has organized a series of free (FREE!) workshops to teach your kids how to make some great mother's day presents. So pick a day, pick a craft, and send your husband and kids off to make you something nice. You'll get the added bonus of a few hours of peace. Come to think of it, the chance to put my feet up and read a book in a quiet house might be better than a Tiffany's bracelet.
These activities sound so fun that your kids may want to go more than once. I love that there are both weekend and weeknight options.
- Saturday, May 2, 10-1: Keepsake Plates
- Sunday, May 3, 1-4: T-Shirts for Mom. (Purchase a t-shirt of your choice and decorate it for free using their supplies)
- Monday, May 4, 6-7PM: Corsages (Create a corsage with permanent flowers that will last a lifetime)
- Tuesday, May 5, 6-7PM: Paper Flower Bouquet (use colorful paper to create your own unique flower bouquet)
- Wednesday, May 6, 6-7PM: Personalized Coupon Book (create a unique book filled with coupons for making your bed, walking the dog, or even a sticky kiss)
- Thursday, May 7, 6-8PM: Mother's Day Card Making (use a cute template that you'll color to make a special Mother's Day card)
- Friday, May 8, 6-8PM: Wooden Frame (Purchase a wooden frame for $1 and decorate it using Michael's supplies)
- Saturday, May 9, 1-4PM: Bead Event (Your kids will learn the latest beading techniques and will leave with 3 projects)
- Sunday, May 10, 1-4PM: Wilton Cookie Decorating (decorate a cookie that you can take with you and eat)
